From October 17th until November 20th, individuals, small teams and schools and churches across the U.S. and UK will raise small or big amounts of money to add up to $291,000 to complete the building of a school for over 900 of the poorest children in coastal Kenya. How many square feet do you want to build?
- Coastal Kenya is one of the poorest regions of the country.
- It has one of Africa’s highest rates of child prostitution.
- Government schools have as many as 300 pupils to1 teacher.
- Most children can’t even access these schools.
A single year of primary school increases the wages a child will earn as an adult by 5-15%
A child is 40% more likely to live past the age of 5 if her mother has had a basic education.
OHMH is building a school with the facilities and teaching quality that can create the visionaries who will lead themselves and their neighbors out of poverty.
