I've seen orphanages before. What is different about Mudzini Kwetu?

There are three important distinctions.

First, this is an independent home founded and established by emotionally devoted caregivers who treat the girls as family members. It is not an institution created or run by the state or the government.

Second, Mudzini Kwetu incorporates, stresses, and highly values education for its girls.

Third, Mudzini Kwetu has a long-term vision to grow and to support the girls through college. Our vision is that they be empowered to become agents of change to alleviate the poverty of their peers.

Where is Kenya?

Kenya is on the coast of East Africa. It is bordered by Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Ethiopa, Somalia and the Indian Ocean.

Where is Mtwapa?

Mtwapa is a small village north of Mombasa on the coast of Kenya.

How can I be sure that my donation will reach Mudzini Kwetu?

Donations are wired each month by Citizens Bank to a secure bank account in Kenya that can only be accessed by our founder, Anthony Mulongo. The net proceeds of all contributions to "One Home Many Hopes" go to support Mudzini Kwetu. Every donor will receive a letter of acknowledgment and thanks.

Is my donation tax deductible?

Yes.

Why should I stop giving to my current charity and give to "One Home Many Hopes"?

You should not. Mudzini Kwetu is one great need among many and we encourage you to give generously to whichever cause is laid upon your heart.

Do you plan to organize any fundraising events?

Yes, and you should too. However, events will not be the primary means by which we raise support for the girls at Mudzini Kwetu. Our primary goal is to create a base of consistent donors: individuals, companies and corporations.

How will I know what my gift has done?
